How did you get my information?

Your household was randomly chosen from a list of addresses in your state.

How do you use panelists’ opinions?

This knowledge will be shared with the general public and scholars through books, academic articles, and, eventually, in news coverage. The surveys panelists complete will be stored for future research but will not contain any personally identifiable information. We will also share panelists’ anonymous survey responses with researchers at other institutions who are working with us on this project.

How do panelists take surveys?

As a panelist, you can take surveys online via your computer, tablet, or smartphone. If you qualify, and are selected, you will receive an email with a personalized survey link for each survey. If you do not have internet access, you can take the surveys via phone. We have contracted with the research firm SSRS to conduct the surveys (www.ssrs.com).

Will panel members be paid for their time?

Panelists will receive their reward after completing a brief registration survey confirming their eligibility and being selected for the panel. Then, for the duration of the research projects, panelists will be eligible and may be invited to complete surveys. If you qualify and are selected, we will expect panelists to complete each survey within one week of qualifying and being invited. The surveys will vary in length from approximately 5 to 20 minutes. If you qualify and are selected for a survey, in appreciation of your time, you may receive between $5 and $15 per completed survey, depending on the length and date of the survey. You will never receive any advertising or be asked to make a donation to any activity.

Can I update my contact information?

Yes! Send an email to [email protected].

How do I unsubscribe from the panel?

As a panelist, if at any time you wish to leave the study, you can send an email from your email address to [email protected] with “UNSUBSCRIBE” in the subject or, you can call 1-866-670-8524. We will retain all of the survey information you have given us up to the time you request to leave the study. If you have any questions about the study itself, please email Ken Winneg at [email protected] or you can call 1-866-670-8524.

How do we protect your privacy?

Each panelist is assigned an identification number which will be the only form of identification that will be linked to your responses. As a panelist, your answers will be combined with those of other participants. The information we collect remains confidential. You can view our Privacy Policy by clicking here.
